Natifa al Nahr Belly Dancing
International belly dance teacher and performer
Tired of the daily grind? Escape and discover the Goddess within you!
A low impact and full body workout, this ancient art form is perfect for women of all ages. Many doctors are now recommending
belly dancing for various problems such as back problems, period pains, weight-loss, stress levels and boosting self-esteem.
No experience is necessary! Things which often make people believe they can’t dance, such as being clumsy or lacking rhythm, are actually overcome through dancing itself.
So what are you waiting for? Open the door into this magical world and start the journey of a lifetime!
Back to Madrid!
After a wonderful year in Edinburgh I have re-located back to Madrid. However, I am still available for UK workshops. Please get in touch at natifaalnahr@gmail.com if you are interested.
SILK VEIL WORKSHOPS!
A great opportunity to learn how to use silk veil or to improve your technique with some original and creative routines! Workshops are on the 23rd of July at Out of the Blue but spaces are limited so please book asap!
WORKSHOP 1 - Introduction to Silk Veil
Learn how to dance with one of the most beautiful extras in belly dancing, the silk veil. In this workshop we will come to grips with how to hold and control the veil, basic movements to compliment your dancing and a set of simple veil routines.
- A basic level of belly dancing is needed for this workshop but no previous experience with veil is necessary.
- You must provide your own silk veil. Veils are available from Hilary's Bazaar on the Royal Mile.
WORKSHOP 2- My favourite silk veil routines
Moving on from the basic introduction to silk veil, we will learn a selection of some of my favourite veil routines and experiment with creating your own! All of these will be put together to create a choreography. We will also explore dancing with veil to a variety of music and see how it can be used in a variety of styles.
- Either a basic level in dancing with veil is needed or completion of first workshop.
- Again, you need to provide your own silk veil.
A good silk veil is a sound investment for any belly dancer! You can find some pictures of the ones on sale here http://www.hilarysbazaar. com/silk2.html
If you would like to see the kind of things we will be doing here is a link to my latest performance with silk veil.http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=nsPoGYkczTk
Due to the space a veil takes up places are limited so please let me know ASAP if you would like a space
Prices are £15 per workshop or £25 for two! Students and concessions £12 per workshop or £22 for two! Times to be confirmed but most likely 12 -2pm and 3-5pm

Musselburgh Hafla!
A wonderful time was had by all at the annual Musselburgh Hafla. Elspeth SwishandHips did a wonderful job hosting, as always, and I was blown away by the fantastic performances I saw on the night. Congratulations to everyone involved! Tonight sees another hafla, this time organised by Natalie at La Tasca. Unfortuately I won't be able to make that one but I'm sure it will be a great success!
